Job Overview:
The Lead Quality Assurance Engineer coordinates QA activities across the team while remaining actively involved in testing and automation. This role drives quality standards, supports release readiness, improves QA processes, and helps ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Excellence
- Drive the continued development and improvement of test automation frameworks and testing processes.
- Support and improve automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, reliability, and overall product quality.
- Evaluate and recommend testing tools, frameworks, and technologies that enhance QA effectiveness.
- Help establish and maintain testing standards, documentation, and QA best practices.

Promote effective use of AI tools to improve test automation, test case generation, defect analysis, and overall QA efficiency.
Ownership & Delivery
- Coordinate QA activities across releases to ensure quality standards are met.
- Lead test planning, execution, validation, and post-release verification efforts.
- Monitor product quality, identify risks, and work with engineering teams to address issues proactively.
- Support incident investigation, defect triage, and root cause analysis activities.
- Help improve testing environments, release readiness processes, and quality monitoring practices.
- Balance delivery timelines with quality expectations and provide recommendations on release readiness.
Team & Company Impact
- Mentor and support QA team members while promoting quality best practices across engineering teams.
- Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and developers to foster a culture of shared quality ownership.
- Provide input on quality risks, testing strategy, and process improvements during planning and development activities.
- Drive initiatives that improve QA efficiency, collaboration, and consistency across multiple teams.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of QA standards, automation practices, and team processes.

Required Skills:
Experience (5+ years)
- Software QA or testing experience in SaaS, eCommerce, fintech, or similar environments.
- Strong experience with both manual and automated testing.
- Experience coordinating, mentoring, or leading QA teams.
- Experience supporting software release cycles and cross-functional product teams.
- Experience testing APIs, databases, workflows, and web-based interfaces.
- Experience testing payment systems or transaction flows is highly valued.
- Proven track record of improving QA processes, automation coverage, and overall product quality.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Jest, or similar tools.
- Experience designing, maintaining, and expanding automated test suites.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, APIs, and database interactions.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows.
- Ability to analyze complex systems, identify quality risks, and develop effective testing strategies.
- Familiarity with performance, load, and exploratory testing methodologies.
- Experience using AI Agents and implementing and building AI tools and Agents.
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership, organizational, and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and business teams.
- Ability to mentor QA team members and promote quality best practices.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
