Job description

At NerdWallet, we’re on a mission to bring clarity to all of life’s financial decisions and every great mission needs a team of exceptional Nerds. We’ve built an inclusive, flexible, and candid culture where you’re empowered to grow, take smart risks, and be unapologetically yourself (cape optional). Whether remote or in-office, we support how you thrive best. We invest in your well-being, development, and ability to make an impact because when one Nerd levels up, we all do.

This entry-level marketing operations role owns the operational and administrative work that supports NerdWallet’s Student Loans STT business. Reporting to the Sr. Staff, Marketing lead as an individual contributor across the full Student Loans portfolio, this role handles the recurring execution work that keeps the marketplace running—spanning lender compliance, landing page content, marketing reporting, affiliate campaign operations, partner contract administration, and invoice reconciliation. The position exists to absorb these tasks so that senior marketing leadership can focus on the revenue- and profit-generating strategy, channel scaling, and high-impact growth initiatives that drive the program forward.

This role reports to Sr. Staff, Marketing.

Where you can make an impact:

  • Process lender-initiated compliance updates—including APRs, disclosures, and other regulated content—across landing pages and internal systems to ensure marketplace accuracy and regulatory compliance.

  • Build, maintain, and analyze marketing reports and Google Sheets dashboards, including month-over-month and year-over-year performance analyses, campaign and partner reporting, and monthly billing audits that support data-driven marketing and partnership decisions.

  • Manage landing page content and lender placement across the Student Loans marketplace by launching new pages, updating existing experiences, optimizing lender ordering, and executing partner-driven initiatives such as logo tests and custom landing pages.

  • Execute affiliate marketing operations in Voluum, including campaign setup, configuration, tracking implementation, and creative asset distribution to support partner acquisition efforts.

  • Reconcile partner billing and invoicing across both sides of the marketplace by validating traffic partner invoices, resolving discrepancies, processing requisitions, auditing lender invoices, and identifying billing issues for cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Maintain lender payout rates, revenue terms, and affiliate compensation structures within internal systems to ensure accurate reporting, bidding optimization, partner reconciliation, and financial tracking.

  • Manage the partner contract lifecycle in Ironclad by monitoring contract progress, coordinating approvals, identifying next steps, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to support onboarding, renewals, and ongoing partner relationships.

  • Serve as a key operational hub across lenders, affiliate partners, finance, marketing, and other cross-functional teams, ensuring initiatives move efficiently from intake through execution and completion.

Your experience:

  • 1–4 years in marketing operations, affiliate or performance marketing, account management, financial operations, or a similar operational role

  • Bachelor's degree preferred — marketing, business, finance, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience

  • Strong attention to detail — this role touches regulated content, financial records, and contracts

  • Ability to track many workstreams at once without dropping items

  • Proactive follow-through without needing repeated prompting

  • Sound judgment about when to act vs. when to escalate

  • Comfort switching between compliance, content, billing, and partner work within a single day

  • Orientation toward learning systems, not just task completion

  • Solid Google Sheets skills — formulas, pivot tables, and basic dashboard construction

  • Comfort working with numbers: reconciling figures, catching discrepancies, keeping records accurate

  • Ability to learn new platforms quickly (training provided on Voluum, Ironclad, WordPress, and internal tools)

  • Clear, professional written communication for partner correspondence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with affiliate tracking platforms (Voluum, Cake, Everflow, or similar)

  • Exposure to CPL/CPA models or paid media basics

  • Background in fintech, lending, or another regulated industry

  • AP/AR, invoice reconciliation, or billing audit experience

  • Familiarity with a contract management platform (Ironclad, DocuSign CLM)

  • CMS experience, particularly WordPress

  • Basic SQL or data warehouse exposure

  • Comfort using AI tools or lightweight automation to reduce repetitive work

Where:

  • This role will be remote (based in the U.S.).

  • We believe great work can be done anywhere. No matter where you are based, NerdWallet offers benefits and perks to support the physical, financial, and emotional well being of you and your family.
